![]() You are correct in all you say about it working fine with any of the lenses. Most of the Leica lenses were on the smaller and lighter side and I think there is a good reason for this. In fact, more similar in weight and bulk to a Leica CLE. But the camera is like a smaller, lighter version of the Leica M series. Well, I clearly am happy with the 16mm and 56mm.not small lenses. Use them both for a while and see how you like using this camera. Or, if you are a zoomer you might try one zoom in your favorite range and one prime. If I were you, starting fresh with this system, I would say to get the 16mm/1.4, the 23mm/1.4, the 35/2 WR to start with. I also have the little 27mm, and I like the FOV, but I am just not all that into using it. I have an X-Pro1, so I know what lenses I will like using best with an X-Pro2 when I get around to buying one. FUJI XPRO 2 USED PROI keep trying to convince myself that It would be more practical to have one of the big pro zooms, but whenever I try one out and start zooming the thing in and out I just get discouraged and hand it back to the salesman. I have two Fuji zooms, and they are both excellent, but I always prefer using primes, so I am not going to give you any advice about zooms. I am strongly prejudiced in favor of primes. You can put any lens you want on the X-Pro2, but what you should buy are lenses that you will like using. The X-Pro2 is the biggest and heaviest of all of the Fuji Cameras (unless you put the battery grip on the X-T1). FUJI XPRO 2 USED SERIESI am always puzzled by people who think that the X-Pro series is best with small lenses. see my 36hrs in London post.all 18 and 35mm primes Then think about what Im missing and look at the new longer zooms.there are some nice new ones in addition to 55-200 If I was starting again Id just buy the 18-55 and a 23mm My kit is XPro1 18, 27, 35, 18-55 and 55-200 (oh and 5D3 50 f1.4, 100 f2.8 macro, 17-40, 24-105 and 70-200F4L.I got a bit carried away when I did a wedding last year!)Ĭonsider if you need weather sealing as this will limit your choices. Note the 18-135 zoom is not as fast (which is why I went for the shorter option) I originally had three zooms - 10-24, 18-55 and 55-200.but sold the 10-24 because I hardly used it and its a bit bulky.but lovely. FUJI XPRO 2 USED MANUALI find the 18 is super.I sometimes would like a 23mm because it has a manual focus clutch mechanism and its a nice field of view.but its a lot bigger.and hard to justify. The XPro1 and 35mm f1.4 does not fit in my pocket and none of my zooms do. If you have an XPro2 then fitted with the 27mm pancake or the 18mm they are small enough to go in your pocket (well they fit in my Berhause fleece and NorthFace jacket for instance). If anything I've learned I tend to prefer the wide end of things! I'm just trying to decide on that fast prime! Another option is to go with the 23mm 1.4, which might be a better "general purpose" lens? Or, should I just consider the 10-24mm zoom? I wouldn't mind having a set of zooms (wide, normal, tele) with a fast prime. I know it'll be a bit bigger than the X100T. I'm wondering if this should be my first lens. With my X100T, I find I really enjoyed shooting with the WCL wide adapter, which is probably equivalent in FOV to the 16mm 1.4 prime. I haven't decided if I should keep or sell the X100T or not (leaning towards selling, to simplify). ![]() I'm planning on selling off the Canon gear piece by piece over time, and moving over to Fuji. A touch of the occasional picture of some wildlife, but I'm far from a birder or wildlife photographer. I've done some work with panoramics I've enjoyed (using a manual pano head). Much of what I shoot is walking around the city and travel photography. I'm also thinking I don't need 3 different camera bodies. but I don't love their ergonomics or menu systems, and I'm afraid that once I tack on my existing (or new Sony) FF lenses the entire kit won't be much smaller than my 5D3. When on my most recent vacations, I only took the Fuji and love the simplicity and size. I love the ergonomics of the Fuji's with the manual controls, the image quality of the JPEG's and film simulations, etc. the big lenses sit at home much of the time. It's really become a burden, and is indicative of my massive GAS after getting back into photography a few years ago. ![]() ![]() I currently have a Canon 5D3, 7D2, and about 7-8 Lenses ranging from the 16-35mm F2.8 up to a 100-400 II. I'm currently going through the process of simplifying my camera gear. ![]()
